The Deepstop Twinset - Apeks MTX -R-Set is equipped with the MTX-R 1st stage and XTX50 2nd stage from Apeks. 

The bottle in this set is a double-12 with Scubatec valve and V4Tec precision clamps.

It is mounted on a Halcyon backplate with Halcyon Evovle bladder.

MTX-R:

The new MTX-R is based on the MTX, a regulator that was developed in accordance with the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit extreme cold water test. Innovations in design mean that the MTX-R regulator performs in almost freezing water at a depth of over 60 metres, something that very few other regulators on the consumer market can boast.

With an innovative first stage design that helps to prevent ice build up around the diaphragm, the MTX-R is reliable, rugged and expedition ready.

  • A first of its kind, over-moulded first-stage end cap and environmental diaphragm to prevent ice build-up that could cause a free flow in extreme circumstances.
  • Forged 1st stage body gives maximum thermal performance.
  • Ribbed diaphragm clamp on the 1st stage ensures improved heat exchange in cold water conditions.
  • Angled HP ports allow for optimal hose routing and transmitter fitting.
  • Parallel turret ports allow for improved hose orientation.
  • Superb protection from impact damage on both the 1st and 2nd stage.
  • Simple to use 2nd stage with no dive adjustment controls and a reduced chance of free flow.
  • Double swivel hose for greater freedom of movement and comfort.
  • Patented heat exchanger surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipating the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in the warmth of the ambient water.
  • Developed in accordance with the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit extreme cold water test.
  • Tested for Octopus use to 60 metres in cold water.

The Wing:

Included in the set is the Halcyon Evolve Wing, which has proven itself over the years.

The wing comes on a steel or stainless steel backplate (standard: steel) and in Regular or Intermediate (makes sense from a height of 1.70m or smaller).

The wing comes in the 40 lbs (18kg) version.


The D12-Tanks:

When choosing the right double-12 bottles you can choose between a round bottom and a concave bottom. Bottles with round bottoms allow a more central weight distribution, while concave bottoms allow an easy putting down of the bottle and prevent a top-heaviness of the diver.

The cylinder surface is flame spray galvanized, primed, painted, colour white, or optional with a zink-surface;

The TÜV documents and commissioning confirmation are either enclosed or can be downloaded from the BTS homepage (www.bts-eu.com) using the bottle numbers.

Our double units are supplied with the tried and tested V4tec stainless steel precision clamp sets (V4 steel), with screws, washers and wing nuts.
