Garmin Descent MK3i dive computer
The Garmin Descent success story continues with the new Garmin Descent MK3i dive computer, which continues the winning streak of the popular and very successful high-end Garmin Descent MK1 and Descent MK2 dive computers and of course offers a lot more!
The new Garmin dive computer MK3i 51mm, also available as a complete package MK3i with T2 transmitter with air integration and also in a smaller version as Mk3i 43mm, offers an unsurpassed range of technical refinements and innovations that offer you maximum safety and comfort while diving, through easy underwater orientation, precise monitoring of your health or practical underwater communication (with software update in 2024).
Diving safety through advanced air integration, underwater communication and satellite connection
The new SubWave 2.0 air integration (together with one or more T2 Garmin transmitters) that the new MK3i dive computer is equipped with in both model sizes, including the MK3i 43mm, allows you to not only keep a very close eye on your air consumption rate and tank pressure, but also that of your buddy (up to an underwater distance of 30m).
The buddy tracking function allows you to constantly monitor your buddy's distance and depth (available with software update in 2024) and even set a distance alarm and with the integrated Diver2Diver system you can send messages to your buddy's dive computer via T2 (available with software update in 2024), up to a maximum distance of 30m.
Whether as a dive guide you can keep a very reliable eye on your divers or simply as a diver you can pay particular attention to your buddy and coordinate perfectly as an underwater buddy team - this advanced technology offers significantly more safety when diving and is particularly popular with diving instructors for the safe supervision of their diving students or with dive guides and liveaboards.
For advanced dive adventurers, it's also good to know that your new MK3 dive computers are all compatible with Garmin InReach (only with active satellite subscription), which allows you to get help and stay in touch from anywhere in the world, even without a mobile data connection. Read more in the description of the Garmin InReach communication devices, which you can also find in our online Divestore.
The MK3i is also available as a dive computer without air integration, the MK3 model.
Your health is always the focus of the new Garmin MK3i dive computer
Dive Readiness is the concept based on the fact that a large number of fine sensors measure and evaluate decisive factors that can influence your risk of decompression sickness very precisely in order to offer you a safe dive. Data about your health, physical fitness, cognitive abilities, level of relaxation and important environmental factors are taken into account to provide you with a risk prognosis for the dive. Especially divers with health impairments or divers who undertake very demanding underwater tours will benefit from this comprehensive data evaluation.
All Garmin MK3 models are equipped with an optical heart rate sensor on the wrist, but can alternatively be used with a Garmin chest strap for precise heart rate measurement, for example when the dive computer is worn over a wetsuit.
Very precise orientation with compass and dive maps and GNSS satellite navigation
Underwater navigation has never been easier or more accurate, thanks to the innovative orientation aids offered by the new Garmin MK3 series dive computers. A very precise electronic 3D compass with tilt compensation helps you to always find the right bearing.
And as an absolute novelty, you will find pre-installed worldwide DiveView maps on all Garmin MK3, which show you the topographical representation of the water floor and all surrounding dive sites in great detail. This allows you to find your way around completely unknown diving areas perfectly and safely.
In the DiveMap view, you can activate the installed TopoActive map and thus have very precise depth contours and depth range shadings displayed graphically, as well as special areas such as marine parks or nature reserves.
When used as a multisport watch on the water surface, the Garmin MK3 offers you the absolute novelty of very accurate navigation based on GNSS satellite navigation, which, unlike GPS navigation, offers all-encompassing orientation as it uses all global satellite navigation systems, such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and other local systems, thus ensuring accurate and area-wide navigation.
